Dr. AudreyAnn Moses is a Certified Christian Life Coach, Mental Wellness Counselor, Speaker/Workshop Facilitator and Author. Her specialty is Personal, Spiritual and Family Growth. She is involved in several community based programs focusing on personal and professional behavior. Holly Brown and Brittney Wells

What began as a temporary solution to combatting the pandemic is becoming normal! Establishing a permanent home office while maintaining a life-work balance can be tough! Learn to thrive in the work-from-home world. Topics will include time management, self-care, and finding opportunities for growth.

Holly Brown is the Manager of Global Supply Chain, Logistics, and Intercompany Customer Service at Lonza. Holly completed her undergraduate degree at Presbyterian College. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University. Holly is a 2011 graduate of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greenwood program and in 2019, was selected as one of Greenwood’s Under 40 Stars. Holly and her husband Josh have two sons, Sully and Finch.

Brittney Wells is the Regulatory and Quality Manager for Essential Ingredients, located in Lawrenceville, GA. Prior to joining Essential Ingredients, Brittney spent thirteen years in various roles including Quality Control, Regulatory, and Quality Assurance, at Lonza. Brittney received her master’s degree in Management from Lander University where she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology. She is a graduate of Leadership Greenwood and was selected one of Greenwood’s Under 40 Stars. Brittney enjoys photography, spending quality time with her family, baking, and cooking.

Creating a Capabilities Statement

This presentation will explain the importance of using a Capabilities Statement to make your business stand out from its’ competitors and lead you through the process of creating a “real time” Capabilities Statement that includes pictures and words and captures the attention of “decision-makers.”

Sherry Pittinger currently serves as a Government Contracting Consultant for the South Carolina Small Business Development Center.  Prior to her current position, she was career Air Force, holding several positions within the area of Logistics.  She retired from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO in July 2008.  She is a cum laude graduate of Regis University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University.

Latia Gary is from Cleveland Ohio, graduate of Kettering University (formerly General Motors Engineering Institute) with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master’s in Business Administration. She has nearly 20 years in engineering, construction, and manufacturing field.  After moving to South Carolina in 2012 for the opportunity to work in construction and energy, she launched LG Solutions, LLC, a Compliance and Quality Assurance Consulting Firm.

This interactive session will provide practical vision and leadership tips, and motivate and empower you to be influentially visionary in your personal and professional life.

Antonette Montalvo is a wife and mother, Owner of Antonette Montalvo Consulting and Coaching Services, Founder/Author of Visionary Nurse™, Co-founder of Montalvo International Community Health Initiative – a community focused grassroots effort, and board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  Antonette released Visionary Nurse™: 90 Days of Inspirational Musings on being Influentually Visionary in 2019 to encourage and empower vision, leadership, cross-sectoral collaboration, and the resilience to dare to be influentially visionary!

She is an author of two books (Without Saying a Word: The Silent Power of Style, and The Creatives’ Closet), speaker, style coach, and the curator of your Visual Resume™. Her branding insights focus on putting your best foot forward to expand influence to drive better outcomes.

This session will explore the ramifications of “bikini medicine” and other women’s health issues. Come let’s learn together!

Joanne Boggs, M.D., received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She taught English overseas in South Korea for several semesters before obtaining her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. She is a hospitalist at Self Regional Hospital and works at Full Circle Care as part of the Women’s Health Clinic and the Bone Health Clinic. She serves as chair of the Covid-19 Therapeutics committee in the hospital and is also a member of the GME/CME Committee.

Building Community through Women’s Collective Giving
Mary Woodiwiss and Louise Robinson

In this presentation, we will give a brief summary of GWC’s development, core values, and organizational structure and build on this introduction with interactive methods to demonstrate how coming together with women (from within and without one’s usual circles) for collective good enables women to know, connect with, and invest in their local community.

Mary Woodiwiss serves as Director of Grants & Projects for the Greenwood County Community Foundation. Mary serves as the Chair of Greenwood Women Care, a women’s giving collective. She is a graduate of Leadership Greenwood and has served on numerous community boards. Mary and her husband, Ashley, are the parents of four daughters and three sons, and have four grandchildren.

Edris Louise Robinson is the Activity/THERAP/Intake Coordinator for BURTON CENTER for disabilities and special needs. She serves as Minister of Music at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. She is a graduate of Columbia College, SC with a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. Louise is active in many civic and community organizations.

Women, Circle and Lean In!
Barbara Rackes and Anita Garrett

How do we fill the pipeline to leadership with qualified women? SC WIL Lean In Circles challenge and champion women in attaining their leadership goals whether they want to run for office, apply for an appointed state or local board or commission, support others running for office, rise-up the ranks professionally, or develop leadership skills to create change within their local communities.

After Barbara Rackes’ business beginnings in the women’s apparel industry when she built a $10 million company doing business in three southeastern cities and employing more than 100 people, Rackes launched several technology companies. Prior to her years as a traditional and online pioneer, Rackes served as a press secretary to a U.S. Congressman in Washington while attending law school.

Anita M. Garrett is a journalist and management consultant. She has worked in the fields of philanthropy and community engagement for more than 20 years helping develop leaders, build capacity and create public/private partnerships globally. As a principal with The Weathers Group, a South Carolina-based consulting firm, Ms. Garrett has devised strategies for the business challenges and opportunities of diverse clients.

Self-care and Why it is Important for Women
Jacquelyn Blakley

This informative, fun, interactive session will give participants an opportunity to participate in activities to evaluate how well they take care of themselves and highlight several self-care tips women can incorporate into their daily lives.

Dr. Jacquelyn Blakley is Dean of Business and Public Services at Tri County Technical College.  She has a BBA from UGA, an MBA and PhD from Clemson University.  Jackie is President of SCAAWCC and a representative for SC Women in Higher Education. Jackie volunteers with the Girl Scouts, and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  She is youth director at her church and is married and has three children, Dr. Sterlin Jones, Briana Eubanks and Jamal.

Kristi Byrd and Dee Carpenter

Participants will identify biases and increase self-awareness, learn techniques to improve relationships, and embrace unique differences using the acronym, I S.E.E. Y.O.U.

Kristi Byrd, LMSW has over ten years of experiences in health, mental health (micro and macro practices), and higher-level education.  She is a graduate of Limestone College and earned a Master of Social Work in social work macro practice at the University of South Carolina. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Walden University specializing in Human Services and Social Sciences. Her dissertation emphasis is on women’s studies.  Kristi’s daily focus is helping others maximize their potential. 

Dee Carpenter, a licensed master’s level social worker with years of experience in the social service arena. A graduate of Lander University, she obtained her B.S in Sociology, emphasis in CJ/Minor in A.A. Studies and earned a Master of Social Work from USC Columbia. She is committed to helping cultivate future human service professionals.

Ann Skinner with Erin Nodine

Learn how to identify common values to build a productive relationship. While working with other participants, you will gain tips for making cold calls, acing interviews, forming strategic alliances, and negotiating win-win outcomes.

Ann Skinner is  the Workforce Development Director at Upper Savannah Council of Governments. She is a creative problem-solver. She brings employers, trainers, and job seekers together to address workforce needs. She has 30 years’ experience in workforce development and holds an MBA from Clemson University and is a proud graduate of Lander University, too.

Erin Nodine is the assistant director of workforce development for Upper Savannah.  She is a wife, mother and engaged member of the community. Erin has a passion for connecting individuals with opportunities that will change lives.

Anne Gunby with Brandy Poore

Buying a home is a big commitment. Whether this is your first attempt or if you’re getting back into the home buying process, you need a plan. You just don’t wake up one morning and decide this is a good day to  buy a house. Don’t start the process without getting the facts.

Anne Jones Gunby began her real estate career with A-Z Realty, the first female, minority-owned brokerage in Greenwood. She’s now an agent with Morton’s Realty. She earned the ABR, GRI, CRS, SFR and C2EX designations and certifications. She served as the President of Greenwood Association of Realtors. Anne  is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is wife to James, mother to Keisa and Kyle, GG to Keaton and Kelby and her grand dogs, Major and Kruz.

Brandy Poore is a Certified Mortgage Advisor/Senior Mortgage Banker with Atlantic Bay Mortgage who has the “Heart of a Teacher” and loves to share her 28 years of banking/finance knowledge to help her clients achieve home ownership and educate them on their options to purchase, refinance, or build the home of their dreams.  She started her banking/lending career in 1994 and loves helping people to accomplish their financial goals by sharing her wealth of knowledge.  Mrs. Poore has been a resident of Greenwood for over 30+ years and gives of her time and financial resources to educate her clients, college students, and high school students to better understand the world of finance and to make wiser financial decisions and understand the importance of maintaining good credit.  Brandy, is a graduate from Lander University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing/Management.  She has been married to her husband, Travis Poore for 25 years and has 2 beautiful children,  RJ (18), Cami (12).

Women wear so many hats, it is often hard to define roles and focus on what is most important. Find out how to balance the work and home. This interactive presentation includes several low intensity activities.

Kim Spangler is a senior lecturer at Lander University where she teaches in the Physical Education and Exercise Science Department. She has taught in higher education for over 20 years and has taught exercise classes for 30 plus years.  She earned a Master of Arts from the University of Georgia. Kim loves spending time with her husband and three children and is a junk gypsy, repurposing furniture and odd items.

Developing executive courage will allow you to push through the fears associated with taking that next step to build your career. This fun, interactive session will help you understand executive courage and how to use  it.

Chunsta Miller is the regional goodwill ambassador for Washington Prime Group. She takes a simple statement, “I want to be successful” and inspires students, young professionals, and women to find and claim their personal power. With energy, enthusiasm, and hilarious heartfelt stories, Miller connects the dots between today and the future.

 This engaging session provides you with tools and knowledge to implement a marketing strategy to connect with your customers and instill loyalty. Holder will share proven tactics that build brand awareness, take advantage of the power of word of mouth, zero in on laser focused targeting and creative strategies – all allowing you to reach your target audience and stay true to your brand. This session will help you make the most of your voice and message and rise above an ever-increasing crowded marketplace.

Ellesor G. Holder is a marketing strategist who works with clients to develop and execute their offline (traditional marketing) and online promotional programs. She is a Certified Festival and Events Executive. She has an extensive background in advertising, marketing and public relations. She is owner of Gray Marketing & PR where she assists clients with branding, implementing comprehensive marketing strategies, website development and social network integration.

One Way to Financial Wellbeing
Melissa Bane

Women face specific obstacles on their journey to financial security.  We will discuss specific steps that can be taken to overcome the financial roadblocks that come our way.

Melissa has been in the financial industry for more than 30 years. Prior to joining Greenwood Capital, she led the financial planning division of Countybank, specializing in creating and implementing complex financial plans for high net worth families and individuals. She received her B.S. from Lander University and is a graduate of the Southeastern Trust School at Campbell University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Personal Financial Specialist, and a Chartered Financial Consultant®.

Immediately following lunch, the Panel Discussion will include representatives from different sectors who will share their personal journeys to their current positions and offer suggestions on how to navigate in various fields.

Kendra Keeney is the Chief Innovation Officer and Vice President for Professional Services and Specialty Dyads at Self Regional Healthcare. Ms. Keeney has a Master’s in Business Administration from Western Governors University, an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Piedmont Technical College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Lander University. Kendra resides in Greenwood with her husband Bill, has two adult children and a beautiful 9-month old granddaughter.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time at the beach

Mamie Nicholson is President of The Self Family Foundation in Greenwood, South Carolina.  She is a graduate of Greenwood High School, Piedmont Technical College, Limestone College and the Council on Foundations Institute for New Staff.  She is a veteran grantmaker, a graduate of Leadership Greenwood, Leadership South Carolina, the SC Diversity Leaders Initiative at Furman University, Rotary Leadership Institute and received certification in Advanced Proposal Analysis from The Grantmaking School (Grand Valley State University).She is married to Floyd Nicholson and they have three sons Antonio, Anthony and Floyd Michael and two daughters-in-law Nancie and Tameka. She is the daughter of Elnora Williams Jennings and the late Jesse Williams.

Dr. Hope E. Rivers is President of Piedmont Technical College. Dr. Rivers earned, a doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina where she completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees. She is a Riley Fellow (Furman University’s Diversity Leaders Initiative) and a graduate of Leadership South Carolina and Leadership Columbia. She received the 2019 SC Woman on the Move Award from the American Association of Community Colleges and was presented the 2021 Outstanding Alumni Award by the University of South Carolina Alumni Association. She is married to Thomas and they have two daughters.

Kaye Torgerson is the Engineering Manager at Flexible Technologies in Abbeville, SC. Kaye graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Textile Engineering with a concentration in Engineered Fabrics.  Throughout her engineering career she has supported manufacturing by providing product design & development, process support, planning, and project management. She has worked in industries that include aerospace, consumer products, and medical accessories. Kaye is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and serves as a mentor for the organizations EngineerGirl and FabFems, both of which support girls interested in STEM career fields. She also spends time volunteering with the youth and children’s ministries at her church. Kaye is a wife and the mother of two. She enjoys board games, puzzles, cheering on her children during their activities, and Auburn football.

Steffanie Dorn is a Greenwood native, a graduate of Greenwood High School & earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Marketing from Lander University. After working almost twenty-two years as the Finance Director for the City of Greenwood she accepted the position of Greenwood County Treasurer in September 2020. She also serves as Finance Chair for Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Steffanie and her husband Joe live in Ninety Six and have two adult children and an 18-month old granddaughter.
